We are very proud to have been nationwide shortlisted and invited to perform for
the Music For Youth National Festival 2026 in Birmingham Symphony Hall in July!
Before that we participated in the Music For Youth Local Festival in March in Newton Abbot
We practice every Thursday in Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo primary school, learning fun tunes from around the world or composed specially for us or even by the musicians themselves! We learn by ear or with music sheets and always play by heart.
We have performed for many local events, the Devon County Show,
also for the International Sound of the Streets festival in Taunton.
Next to come : the Union Street Party in Plymouth, Sunday 20 September, around 2pm
The Big Friendly Street-Band is organised by the South Devon Street-Band Cic.
We have received fundings from the South Hams District council, the Devon County Council, the Newton & Noss Parish Council, and from private donors.
We are also a proud funded partner of the Devon Music Education Hub as an ensemble.
